“The bathroom is a private, everyday space shaped by the objects and designs brought into it. Decorative tiles have travelled between cultures through trade, migration and artistic exchange, eventually entering ordinary homes. Here, the red flower tile blends into the room, while the blue and yellow tiles appear newly placed, as if brought from elsewhere. Their contrast shows how cultural influences can either become absorbed into a place or remain visibly distinct.”
